Call for ART ATTACK Contributions
Soroptimist International of Phoenix (a 501(c)3 organization) is calling for artists to donate a painting for
auction at the Art Attack to be held on April 6, 2008, at JW Marritott’s Camelback Inn. Contributing
artists will be given an 8 x 10 Masonite canvas on which to create a unique piece of art. Content is limited
only by talent, imagination, and community standards. Artists will be recognized in the event program and
given an opportunity to display brochures or business cards. Attendance at the event typically ranges from 600
to 800, providing an opportunity to reach a large audience. Net proceeds from the auction support Soroptimist
selected charities and activities focusing on improving the lives of women in the local community. Other art
pieces may also be donated for the auction. Donations must be turned in by March 1, 2008.

Women’s Opportunity Awards
Soroptimist International (SI) Phoenix is accepting applications for the 2007-2008 Women’s
Opportunity Award (WOA) program. The award program was established in 1972 to assist women heads of household
in obtaining skills training and education necessary to improve their employment status and standard of living for
themselves and their family. Each year Soroptimist clubs in 19 countries and territories assist women by
awarding one to three winners.
This year, Soroptimist International of Phoenix will be selecting three winners. The first,
second and third place winners will be awarded $2,000, $1,500 and $1,000 respectively to support their education
goals. Please help us spread the word.
Applications for the award program will be accepted through December 15th. Please contact us at info@siphx.org for an application, or visit www.soroptimist.org for an on-line version of the application.
WOA is Soroptimist’s major service project. To be eligible, winners must be women who provide
primary support for their families, and who are enrolled in or have been accepted to a vocational/skills training
program or undergraduate degree program.
